Thought for the Week
I’m beginning to believe that kindness is the answer to all questions ever asked… that generosity is the cure for all that ails us…that giving is the meaning of life.

Introduction to the Readings
Romans 13:8-14: The fulfilment of the law is love. We ought to live in such a way that we will be found living lives of love when Christ returns. This Paul instructs the church at Rome.
Matthew 18:15-20: Jesus gives instructions for how the church ought to conduct its life together, balancing ethical judgment with loving restoration of offending persons in order that the church’s life might be preserved.

DEVELOPMENT FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN
Newsletter: Number 1
As a church member you were likely to have been one of the significant number of committed members who voted in favour of the proposed redevelopment and maintenance upgrade of our buildings.
Our first priority is to commission the contract for the building of the covered link between the church and hall and associated works (i.e. Motion A). The total cost of this part of the project is $557,413.
We already have $400,000 of that sum set aside, which leaves us with approximately $160,000 to find by way of community grants, personal loans, personal bequests, personal gifts and/or congregational fundraising. Applications for grants are already underway but anything received is unlikely to cover the shortfall. Your committed and immediate help is essential.
We are a diverse group covering different ages, financial dependence and talents yet we have one great interest in common – the continuing development and growth of OUR CHURCH. There are many different ways each of us can help to achieve our common goal.
How may YOU help?
Personal Donations:
The easiest and simplest way is to make a personal donation specifically directed to the project. Remember every $1,000 donated in this way qualifies you for a $333 rebate from the Inland Revenue Dept (IRD) – contact Bruce McAlister
Personal Loan:
If you do not, or cannot, make a personal donation at this stage then why not consider a personal loan towards the project. You can lend a sum (on acceptable terms to you) to assist in the early completion of the church hall link – contact Murray Heath
Bequests:
If you don’t have the ready cash, or the health to help now, are you willing to commit a bequest in favour of the building fund through your personal Will? - contact Bruce McAlister
Fund Raising Activities:
If not in a position to assist in any of these ways you can help with stalls, baking, canvassing, making, shaking, etc etc – contact Cecile Pierce
