Quiet Space

A quiet-ish time of prayer and contemplation, held on the first Friday of every month.

The church will be open from 9.30am for you to have your own quiet space, then at 10.00am a "Mindfulness" session will be led by the Rev Silvia Purdie.

All are welcome. Why not treat yourself to some peace and quiet?

Quilts & Bits CRAFT GROUP

Held every Tuesday at 9am in the Kowhai Room, this informal group is open to anyone who wishes to have some company whilst crafting. Any portable craft is welcome; a gold coin donation is requested if you are able, to cover costs of tea, coffee and biscuits.

Preschool Music Group

Every Thursday morning during term times, the Cashmere Pre-School Music group meets in the Rata Lounge from 10.00am for half an hour of music and dance, then morning tea (with home baking and proper coffee!)

Have heaps of fun, with your preschooler, and make new friends! Please bring some fruit for the kids' morning tea; cost - gold coin donation!

FORUM

Forum meets weekly for an hour each Wednesday morning at 10.00am, and is valued by those who participate. The focus is on the Scripture readings, sermon and general theme of the previous Sunday morning’s service. Those attending may either contribute to the discussion in the way they feel led, or simply sit and listen. We aim to finish by 11.00am.

FOOt Clinic

The Foot Clinic is held approximately every 6 weeks, on a Tuesday, and offers a service of foot massage and toe-nail clipping for those unable to undertake these tasks themselves.
Participants enjoy a cuppa, as well as home-made baking, as they bathe their feet and catch up with friends before reclining for their foot care. The requested donation is $8 per person.

CONFERENCES @ CASHMERE

Cashmere Presbyterian Church has a proud tradition of holding a ‘public issues’ conference each year.

The 2018 Conference is a partnership with Grace Vineyard, South West Baptist Church, and international Christian organisation A Rocha, dedicated to environmental protection. Rich Living: Exploring Sustainability and Christian Faith is designed to inspire, mobilise and equip individuals and communities of faith to have a positive impact in mitigating climate change, improving the health of ecosystems, and enhancing the lives of others.
To register, and for more information, go to the A Rocha website: www.arocha.org.nz and follow the links to Events.
The programme is here: http://www.arocha.org.nz/rlc-programme/

Previous Conferences:
In 2017, the theme was "Promoting Youth Wellbeing", with a Community Seminar for parents, care-givers, grandparents - anyone who knows that this topic is a real challenge, and wants to move forward in helping youth & their loved ones - and a separate Youth Seminar for youth aged 13-19, with tools and resources to "Help your friends through tough times".

In 2016, the topic was "What does the future hold?" Speakers included Nicola Hoggard-Creegan and MP Ruth Dyson, who led us as we discussed "Implants & upgrades, cyborgs & cellphones: staying human in the 21st century", "The Future for Christchurch", and "Our Poor Planet: Ecology, theology and saving the Earth".  Resources and notes from this event are available on the Cashmere Conference website.
