Cashmere Hills is a church family that enjoys having children of all ages in worship. There is a creche for infants, older children regularly take part in the worship service, and on the first Sunday every second month there is a totally different kind of Family Service when the only thing expected is the unexpected.

We seek to be a Church committed to involving our children in leading worship and also providing services that are relevant to their needs. "We cannot be a Church without children, and we will attempt in our services to be child and family friendly," says David Coster, the minister.

Every Sunday during school terms there is a learning programme for children, called "Log-On". The group meets in the Church Lounge at 10am to participate in a range of music, activities, games and discussion. They join the congregation in the Church towards the end of the hour.

X-Space is for children aged 11 plus - a social gathering where we make space for laughter and informative discussions. Meeting on Sunday afternoons, 5pm, at Anne Shave's place.

We maintain contact with local schools and in particular, Cashmere High School and Cashmere Primary School.. Groups from the High School contribute to music in worship and at concerts from time to time.

"Supporting all these activities is the regular contact we have with the families and caregivers of children and young people," Helen Matthews, the Christian Education convenor says. "We try to be a family oriented church which values the contribution of young people."
