Harvest Thanksgiving Service Sunday 30th March 2025 Texts: Exodus 23: 14-16 Luke 9: 10-17 Today, as we gather for our Harvest Thanksgiving, we reflect on the many blessings we have received throughout the year. The lens that we will use to reflect on the harvest will be the miraculous feeding of the 5,000, a powerful story that teaches us about our need, God's provision, gratitude, and the call to share. Our focus today is also reflection on our dependence on the natural environment, specifically the harvest as highlighted in our Exodus passage. Celebrating first fruits is not something that we do well. Watch the recorded sermon here: https://youtu.be/jPeGI8pw86o

Sermon Series: Lessons in Luke Sunday 23rd March 2025 Text: Luke 13: 1-9 The passage for this sermon is Luke 13:1-9, which, at first glance, is pretty hard-hitting. But whilst the passage does say 'repent or perish', there is also a strong message about being given second chances when we get it wrong. It also guides us through key gospel steps:

Why should we be afraid? The Lord is the stronghold of our life! What have we to fear? Let us wait for the Lord Let us be strong And may our hearts take courage If you were able to be transported back to Jesus’ time and had to choose one event in his life to be present at, what would it be? Let we who trust in the Lord know that holy love surrounds us. God's protection will follow us throughout our days. When we call out to the Lord, We know that we are heard. God is with us in every trial and temptation, Therefore we will rejoice in the salvation of the Almighty! Amen! Today Mark considers the Temptation of Jesus in the Wilderness, and how Satan seeks to distort our understanding of our relationship with God, dislodge our loyalty, and destroy our calling. Kingdom living is magnanimous and generous towards others, optimistic in outlook and brings a sense of deep joy to those who live it. It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp. For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord; I sing for joy at what your hands have done. The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him. |
