Sunday 22nd June 2025
Text: Acts 2

This week’s sermon focuses on the community of the Holy Spirit. In the reading from Acts, the writer, Luke, provides us with a glimpse of a healthy body of Christ. The question for us as a church is, what can we learn about healthy church life that can inspire us to even better things?

Sunday 15th June 2025
Text: John 16:1-14

To help us understand this text in context, we need to be aware that
  • Jesus is about to leave
  • He forewarns them about opposition from unbelieving society
  • the disciples are in great distress
  • Jesus seeks to encourage them

Mark considers these points during his sermon today. You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/EhI9M6MRIvM

A Sermon for Pentecost
Sunday 8th June 2025
Text: Acts 1: 1-9; 2: 1-17

Spirit of the living God,
Fall afresh on me!
Spirit of the living God,
Fall afresh on me!
Break me, melt me, mold me, fill me!
Spirit of the living God,
Fall afresh on me!

The verses from Acts 1 & 2 are filled with extraordinary images and messaging that are vital to understanding what it means to be church! In today’s sermon, Hamish explores some of these messages.

Resurrection, Revelation, Renewal
A Preaching Series in the book of Revelation
Sunday 1 June 2025
Text: Revelation 22: 12-21

Where do we find hope in a despairing world? As the bombs rain down on Kiev and the children starve in Gaza and world leaders seem to be turning a blind eye to the devastating impact of climate change, it is easy to descent into depressing despair and hopelessness.

Stepping back to look at the big message of scripture as it comes through in these last verses of the bible, there are 3 great hope inspiring themes here and, as we come to look at these last words of the biblical text, Revelation 22, we will today use the lens of the story of the African Americans and the faith and hope inspired by the biblical story and captured in song.
