Sunday 31 August 2025 Text: Luke 14: 1, 7-11 Let us sing a song to celebrate the power of God A shout out to the God of Jacob Hymns of the congregation, music from the guitar The sweet sounds of clarinet and oboe Trumpets, trombones and horns It’s a day to celebrate together the abundant goodness of God Today’s passage shows how great things can come from humble places! The one who proudly takes the most prestigious place for themselves will lose it and the one who humbly knows their place will be in for a promotion. This is a repetitive theme of scripture, speaking to a deep spiritual truth. Watch the recording of the sermon here: https://youtu.be/Ai7Ynpp8gUY

Sunday 24 August 2025 Text: Isaiah 62:11-12 Luke 13:10-21 I lift up my eyes to the mountains-- where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Turn your eyes upon Jesus Look full in His wonderful face And the things of earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace He will not let your foot slip-- he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. Turn your eyes upon Jesus Look full in His wonderful face And the things of earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace The Lord will keep you from all harm-- he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Turn your eyes upon Jesus Look full in His wonderful face And the things of earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace The recorded sermon can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/4fwWbT-Z2NU Sunday 17th August 2025 Texts: Isaiah 5: 1-7 Luke 12: 35-40 Even when the night is deep, the promise of dawn draws near. We keep our lamps burning and our eyes peeled, ready to respond when called by God A divine knock at the door will break the silence: Come let us greet Him! We rise with joy, ready for His appearing. In the darkness, our light shines; in the waiting, our hope has grown. In worship we will watch, we will wait, we will worship—awake to all the ways the Lord calls to us Today’s reading from Luke 12 is about watchfulness. In his sermon Hamish asks us, when Jesus knocks on the door of our lives, are we ready to open the door to Him? We come, believing in a Creator who formed the heavens and the earth, and who still holds all things together. When the future feels uncertain, and the news overwhelms, Jesus says: Do not worry. We lift our eyes to the hills-- Our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Let the beauty of the earth remind us of God's care. Let the flight of the bird, the bloom of the flower, speak of a God who clothes and feeds and sustains. We worship with faith in a God who is not distant, but active in creation-- renewing, redeeming, and inviting us to join in the work. So come—let us worship the God of all creation, who speaks peace into our anxiety, and calls us to walk by faith, not fear. With open hearts and steady hope, we worship the Lord our God. Today’s sermon is based around Luke 12, where Jesus said to the disciples, “And so I tell you not to worry about the food you need to stay alive or about the clothes you need for your body. Life is much more important than food, and the body much more important than clothes.” Watch the recorded sermon here: https://youtu.be/rEragChPyMw Sunday 3rd August 2025 Texts: Psalm 104:10-24 Luke 12:13-31 Call to Worship (From Psalm 100) Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
