God graciously invites us to meet with him this day!
God’s love is heralded in the promise of Christ. God’s promises are fulfilled in the coming of Christ. God’s mercy extends from generation to generation For the next few weeks in our Sunday services, we are tracing the emergence of Jesus of Nazareth onto the world stage through the lens of some of the early passages in Luke’s gospel. The series is entitled ‘Welcoming Jesus to Our World’ – although that could be regarded as a little presumptuous and provocative as it was his world in the first place! However, we are not able to meet for worship just yet. It may be possible in a couple of weeks time; we will keep you informed about this and the kind of measures that will be in place when we do get back together. Even after we do start to meet together again, we will continue to keep services available online for anyone who cannot make it to church.
The service this week is based on Proverbs 4:1-4 and reflects on the way wisdom is handed on down through the generations. As part of the recorded service there will be an opportunity to share communion. I invite you to have some bread and wine/juice ready to go when you sit down to watch the service. Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.
