Sunday 23rd April 2023 God calls us to worship – not only in this day and hour but on all days and in every hour. On all days and in every hour, we are called to remember who God is and to remember who we are. We are called to sing aloud together, to pray together and to live in the presence of God. Readings: 1 Peter 1: 17-23: In the first chapter of Peter’s letter, he emphasises that followers of Jesus are God’s people. They may encounter problems in following Jesus, but they are precious in God’s eyes. Luke 24:13-36: On the afternoon of the first Easter two disciples are walking to the village of Emmaus. On their way a mysterious stranger joins them. You can download the full service sheet on our News page, and the recorded sermon is available to watch here: https://youtu.be/5md9q8hRpkk Sunday 16th April 2023 – Easter 2 Acts 2: 14a & 22-32: Peter’s point in this passage is simple, especially to the ears of people living in our time and age: Jesus the one who was crucified is risen - for death could not hold Him. John 20:19-31: John tells of the events after Easter that led the disciples from paralyzing fear to great joy. Belief, or faith, is an important matter in John’s Gospel. In fact, John says that he has written hi entire Gospel that people will believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and in the act of believing, have real and eternal life.
